Tell us what goes in the box

The three things that decide a specification are what the product is, what the filled pack weighs, and how it reaches the customer. Give us those and the quote is accurate rather than approximate.

  • A written quote with the board, printing and finishing stated
  • A dieline drawn to your product, with the usable print area marked
  • An honest note about anything in the brief that will not work
  • A physical sample before a full run, where it is worth it

Capabilities

What can actually be done to a pillow box

The format is simple and the specification is not. Material, weight, printing method, coating, decoration and internal structure are six separate decisions, and each one changes what the others can do.

  • Kraft, coated paperboard, E-flute corrugated, clear PET and dyed-through colored board
  • Spot color, full CMYK, Pantone matching, opaque white base and inside printing
  • Matte, gloss, soft-touch lamination, water-based varnish or uncoated
  • Foil stamping, embossing, debossing and spot UV from custom brass tooling
  • Die-cut windows, carry handles, ribbon closures and standing bases
  • Fitted trays, retaining cards, dividers and printed insert cards

How it works

From a description to a delivery

Nothing here is unusual. It is worth setting out because the stage most projects lose time on is the one people expect to be quick.

  1. Tell us what goes in the box

The product, its filled weight, and how it reaches the customer. Those three answers determine the material, the board and the closure — most of the specification.

  2. We quote, in writing, with the spec stated

Board, printing, finishing, tooling and a delivery date that includes transit. If something in the brief will not work, that is in the quote too.

  3. We draw the dieline to your product

With the usable print area, the crease zones and any aperture position marked. Design onto it rather than to an assumed size — it removes the most common revision round.

  4. Artwork, proof and sample

A printed draw-down for any color that matters, and a physical sample in the final board where the specification warrants it. This is the stage worth not rushing.

  5. Production and delivery

Boxes ship flat. We keep the die, the color references and the approved proof, so a reorder is produced against the record rather than reinterpreted.

Custom pillow boxes: common questions

The questions we are asked most often, answered without the hedging.

What is a pillow box?

A flat-packed carton with two curved end tucks that hold it closed without glue or a lid. It folds from a single die-cut blank in a few seconds, stores flat until you need it, and suits small to medium products particularly well.

Do you have standard sizes?

No. Every box is cut to the product, which avoids paying to ship air in the nearest stock size. Send us the item or its measurements and we draw the dieline around it.

What does a pillow box cost?

Pricing starts from $0.30 per piece. What moves it is size, material, quantity, printing, finishing, inserts and shipping — so any figure quoted without those is a guess. We send a written quote with the specification stated.

What is the minimum order?

We quote small runs as a matter of course. At low quantities the fixed costs — the die, the plates, the press setup — dominate the unit price, and we will show you where they sit so you can decide what to simplify.

Which countries do you supply?

The United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. We ship to addresses in all four; we do not operate premises in any of them, and lead times we quote include transit rather than hiding it.

Can you match my brand color?

With a Pantone reference, yes — printed as a spot ink so it reproduces identically between runs. From a screen value we convert to the nearest match and send a printed draw-down for approval.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. We produce a physical sample in the final board and size so you can test the fit with your own product. It is the cheapest way to find a specification problem before it becomes a full run.

How long does production take?

It depends on the specification, quantity and finishing, and we quote production and transit together as one date. A production time that ignores shipping is not useful information.

Do you print inside the box?

Yes, on a board coated both sides. On a pillow box the inside face is genuinely visible as the tuck opens, and a flat color inside is one of the cheapest ways to make a pack feel considered.

Can the boxes be posted without an outer carton?

With a postal specification — a sealed closure, an address panel and board chosen for the journey. A retail pillow box sent as-is generally arrives open and dented.
